Get to know a life coach!

Let a life coach help you get to your destination.

Life doesn’t come with an instruction guide. We’re all learning as we go and doing the best we can, but sometimes we need a little help along the way. At times like this we may turn to family and friends for support. But let’s be honest, sometimes you need an objective, experienced person to tell it like it is and help you get on track.

A life coach is not a therapist or a medical doctor, but someone who helps you overcome obstacles to a goal or objective. You don’t need to have an illness or be at your wits end to ask for a bit of help. In fact, it’s smarter to get help now instead of waiting until things get worse! There are all kinds of life coaches who specialize in many different areas of life and business, so working with a life coach can give you a huge advantage in all kinds of situations. Some of these include the following:

  •  You Feel Stuck. When you’re feeling hopelessly stuck and can’t seem to overcome obstacles, a life coach can help you to see the options you’re overlooking. Whether you want to choose a new career path, build your self-confidence, or simply improve yourself, a good life coach can help you discover new options and get better results.

  •  Relationship Problems. If your relationship isn’t what you want it to be, and you know it can be happier, a relationship coach can be a great mediator and guide for better communication and understanding.

  •  You Lack Drive. Sometimes the stress of modern life wears us down and we just don’t have the energy or motivation to achieve our goals. If you still have a desire to achieve these goals, a life coach can give you the extra support and experience you need to get you from Point A to Point B.

  •  You Lack Productivity. A life coach can also help you to increase your productivity by helping you identify obstacles and to come up with techniques you can use to overcome them. Also, by holding you accountable for what you accomplish (or don’t) a good life coach can definitely help you stay on track.

An amusing example of how to use a life coach comes from a blogger, Maneesh Sethi. Maneesh wanted to cut back on procrastinating after realizing he spent 30 hours a week on Facebook. So he hired a woman for $8 an hour to slap him every time he procrastinated while working on his computer. While this may sound a bit extreme, Maneesh did report a 60% increase in his productivity!

If you have a goal and need help figuring out how to get there, a life coach can be an invaluable asset. You will get a fresh perspective, learn techniques to speed up your goal achievements, and have the support of a knowledgeable life coach on your side.
