A very important concept. I have found in the past that some coaches and even myself, upon reflection have suffered from what I learned was ‘Intellectual Ego’. Whereby, we become so enamored by ourselves and the fact that we know all this stuff, that we lose sight of the very lesson we are trying to convey.
I have been turned away from coaches and self help or ‘get rich quick’ soothsayers when all they want to talk about is themselves and how wonderful they are. I feel no connection. I guess they don’t convey any of the Florence Nightingale in me 🙂
One exception might be those that have recently awoken and are bursting to share their success and relief. However, sincerity tends to find it’s way through.
I can only imagine how much we can learn from others; even when they are in a sorry state. So, being coach-able is a worthy skill indeed.
Cheers
